NOTES
The Kir is a refined French aperitif that hails from Burgundy and was named in honor of Canon Félix Kir, a beloved war hero and former mayor of Dijon. Traditionally made with a splash of crème de cassis and a dry, crisp white wine like Sauvignon Blanc, this drink strikes a delicate balance of sweetness and acidity. Light and elegant, it’s often served chilled—sometimes over ice—for an extra refreshing touch. Swap the wine for champagne, and you’ve got the bubbly variation known as the Kir Royale.
