Gin Smash
INGREDIENTS
  • 5 oz gin
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar (finely ground sugar can be used here)
  • 4 or 5 sprigs of mint
  • Seltzer water (just a dash)
  • Garnish:  2-3 sprigs of mint

INSTRUCTIONS
Muddle the mint slightly in an old-fashioned cocktail glass with the sugar a dash of seltzer water, then fill the glass two-thirds full of cracked ice.  Pour in the gin and stir gently, bringing the leaves of the mint upward.  Garnish with 2-3 sprigs of mint.
