Serving Up Recipe's All Day Ever Day

Delmonico Number 1

INGREDIENTS

1 oz gin
½ oz brandy (or Cognac)
½ oz dry vermouth
½ oz sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish: Orange twist

INSTRUCTIONS

Shake the liquid ingredients vigorously with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the orange twist.

This is the house cocktail from New York's famous Delmonico Restaurant, a classic that predates Prohibition. Traditionally served in a Delmonico glass (similar to a sour glass), it can be garnished with either a lemon or orange twist.
