Cosmopolitan Cocktail Recipe | Building A Drink

Serving Up Recipe's All Day Ever Day

Cosmopolitan
INGREDIENTS
  • 1½ oz citron vodka
  • 1½ oz Cointreau
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice 
  • 1 to 2 dashes cranberry juice 
  • Garnish:  Lemon twist

INSTRUCTIONS
Shake the liquid ingredients vigorously with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the lemon twist.

NOTES
Called the "Cosmo" by aficionados, this extremely popular cocktail has become a classic. The original was a tart concoction of citron vodka, lime juice, Cointreau to sweeten, and cranberry juice, used merely to add a slight blush of color. You will find that most recipes have evolved into deep-pink variations emphasizing the cranberry juice.
