INGREDIENTS

3 oz bourbon (or blended whiskey)
1 oz cranberry juice
½ oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz simple syrup
Garnish: Lemon slice

INSTRUCTIONS

Shake the liquid ingredients vigorously with ice. Strain into an ice-filled old-fashioned glass. Garnish with the lemon slice.

VARIATION: Combine the liquid ingredients in a blender with ½ cup ice. Blend for a few seconds, and pour into a chilled wineglass.
